Description
A plein air painting completed on location in Cave Creek, AZ at the Spur Cross Conservation Area. Hundreds of people hike and bike in this popular park. I painted on location with a friend in April and the backlit Palo Verde with the nursing Saguaro was irresistible. I added a couple jumping cacti or cholla, to accent my composition. A rattlesnake kept us company while we painted but he'd apparently just eaten and was more interested in napping, because he didn't make any noise after an initial warning rattle.
